Armenia hopes for Ukraine’s assistance in Transcaucasia settlement

KYIV. July 1

Armenia is hoping that Ukraine will promote the establishment of peace
in Transcaucasia during its OSCE chairmanship in 2013.

“We are really hoping that Ukraine will make a contribution to the
establishment of peace and accord in our region during its OSCE
chairmanship,” Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said while meeting
with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych during
Ukrainian-Armenian negotiations in Kyiv on Friday.

Sargsyan said the last visit paid by the Armenian president to Ukraine
ten years ago “by no means” meets the current level of relations
between the two countries.

“I would gladly come to a brotherly country and I am happy about the
successes you have achieved recently,” he said.

Sargsyan said Armenia is interested in establishing bilateral
relations in the economic, humanitarian and foreign policy spheres.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
