Iranian parliament speaker offered to replace international mediators
on Karabakh

July 01, 2011 | 18:20

Iranian parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is confident that countries of
the region must take on the process of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
settlement, since all previous efforts of OSCE Minsk Group were not
successful.

At his meeting with Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Oktay Asadov on
Friday Ali Larijani stressed that big states do not contribute to
conflict resolution, reports Interfax.

`Iran always supported territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Karabakh
conflict must be resolved in accordance with the principal of
territorial integrity,’ said Larijani.

In his turn, Azerbaijani speaker stressed his confidence about Iran’s
support regarding official position of Baku.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
