YEREVAN. – Armenian National Academy of Sciences (NAS) convened a
press conference on the occasion of June 15 being announced the day
of voicing of scientific issues.

NAS President Radik Martirsosyan mentioned that more than half of
scientific achievements are the outcomes of international cooperation
projects.

According to him annual $23 million is allocated for the field of
science in Armenia, while in Azerbaijan the figure amounts to $114
million.

“And despite this UNESCO statistical data says that Armenia has
544 scientific points against 292 points of Azerbaijan,’ said the
academician.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
