PanARMENIAN.Net – During the June 10 sitting, Armenian Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan attached importance to the “transparent public
disclosure” of all the matters related to Nairit plant’s operation.

Sargsyan noted that inadequate statements and publications are made
by various persons that the government has been the plant’s owner
since 2006, while Nairit has changed four owners.

Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan
noted that the entire information is placed on the official website
of Nairit plant and is available for everyone.

On June 10, several dozens of Yerevan-based Nairit plant employees
gathered at the residence of the Armenian President to get explanations
regarding the fate of the plant. Besides, they are demanding their
3-month salary payment.

Chairman of the Nairit labor union Hrachya Tadevosyan told journalists
that the employees were last remunerated in April, when they were
paid the salary for February. “We do not know whether the plant will
resume operation and when we will receive our wages. We are aware
that the issue is in the focus of the leadership but people want to
get precise information,” he said.

The protesters have already sent a delegation to meet with
representatives of the presidential administration.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
