“The forces, observing the Nagorno Karabakh issue from revanchist
position should be defeated ideologically,” Vladimir Kazimirov,
former Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, deputy chairman of
the Russian Diplomats’ Association, said today at the “Collective
Security Treaty Organization and South Caucasus: Region’s Peace and
Security Prospects” two-day international conference in Yerevan.

He says Baku artificially makes the situation stricter. “However
one should not yield to revenge seekers. It is necessary to achieve
their ideological defeat,” Vladimir Kazimirov said. He added that
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev’s regular warlike threats violate
one of the 3 primary principles for the settlement of the conflict –
non-use of force or threat of force.

He says it is necessary to focus also on the International Law’s 4th
principle – peaceful settlement of the period. As to CSTO and Russia’s
attitude towards the possible launch of military actions, Kazimirov
said Russia will not remain indifferent and will undertake urgent
means for the suspension. As to Azerbaijani statements on “occupation”
of 20% of Azerbaijan’s territories, Kazimirov said “occupation is a
result of war, and it was Baku that did not want stopping the war,
moreover up to now it goes on the violations in the border line,”
Vladimir Kazimirov said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
