7.1% YEAR-ON-YEAR FREIGHT TRAFFIC GROWTH IN ARMENIA IN JAN-SEPT 2010

Freight traffic in Armenia for Jan-Sept 2010 totaled 7.2 million tons
(7.1% year-on-year growth), National Statistical Service of Armenia
reports.

According to the statistical report, 4.1 million tons or 57.9% of all
the cargoes were transported by motor vehicles, 2.1 million or 30.2%
were carried by trains, 6,300 tons or 0.1% by aircrafts and 854,400
tons or 11.8% were conveyed through pipes.

The country’s freight turnover was 2088.4 million ton/km in Jan-Sept
2010 (15.7% year-on-year growth). ($1 = AMD 357.98).
