Brian Magee is targeting a world title fight after his Dublin victory
Brian Magee comfortably retained his European super-middleweight belt
in Dublin after Roman Aramian failed to come out for ninth round.

The 35-year-old from Belfast dominated his Armenian opponent from the
start in an impressive display.

Magee now wants to world title fight against current
super-middleweight champion Dimitri Sartison of Germany.

“I’m number one in the division and hopefully now I’ve put myself in a
position to get it,” he said.

Aramian never troubled Magee in a one-sided fight and only a strong
chin kept him going until the ninth round at Dublin’s National
Stadium.

“The strategy was to bide my time and keep the pressure on,” added Magee.

“He is tough – I hit him with everything and he still kept coming.

“You saw what the European title meant to him, every round he gave it his all.”
