ARMENIA TO WORK OUT ENERGY SECURITY DOCTRINE

The working group on elaboration of the energy security doctrine
convened its first sitting today chaired by Secretary of the National
Security Council of Armenia Arthur Baghdasaryan. Elaboration of the
doctrine is envisaged by the Armenian National Security Strategy.

Attaching importance to energy security as one of the components
of national security of our country, Arthur Baghdasaryan noted that
"the energy security doctrine should be primarily aimed at ensuring
Armenia’s energetic self-sufficiency in both sort-term and long-term
perspectives."

Participants of the sitting decided to complete the development of
the provisions of the doctrine within a month and submit the document
for ratification by October.
