Integration received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador
of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Armenia Ivan Yestrab.

him the efforts taken in the direction of the activation of the
Armenian-Czech relations, in particular for giving opportunity the
Armenian students to study in the higher educational institutions of
the Czech Republic. The Chairperson raised the issue of restoring the
students’ fellowship during the meeting, which was held in March with
the parliamentary delegation.

In the course of the meeting issues concerning the further steps of
the fulfillment of the Eastern Partnership programme, activation of
the Armenian-Czech relations. The sides expressed their concern in
connection with the delay of the start of Euronest, noting that the
alienation of Belarus from the Eastern Partnership format will not
lead to the solution of the problems connected with the democracy in
that country.

The Ambassador informed Mrs. Zohrabyan about the pre-electoral
political situation ruling in the Czech Republic, and at the
Ambassador’s request Mrs. Zohrabyan presented the political motivations
of the announcement of the President of the Republic of Armenia
on preventing the ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols,
recording satisfaction that the international community understands
very well the necessity of that step taken by the Armenian side as a
result of the inconsistent policy pursued by Turkey. The Ambassador
Ivan Yestrab expressed hope that after the parliamentary elections
being held this month the Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee
on European Integration will visit the Czech Republic. In the meeting
the sides also discussed other issues of bilateral interest.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
