`The signing of the Armenian-Turkish protocols and the establishment
of relations with Turkey has nothing to do with the process of
recognition of the Armenian Genocide. On the contrary, I’m confident
that by normalizing relations with Turkey and establishing contacts
with the Turkish society, it will be possible to accelerate the
process of recognition of the Armenian Genocide inside Turkey and in
the whole world,’ President Serzh Sargsyan said at the annual meeting
of the Republican Party of Armenia.

Touching upon the Karabakh issue, President Sargsyan said `Armenia
stands for peaceful resolution of the Karabakh issue through
negotiations." "However, we’ll not allow any assault against Nagorno
Karabakh and we are ready to respond in the harshest way,’ the
President stated.

`Definitely, conflicts get a lasting and stable solution only in case
they are based on justice and reasonable mutual concessions. We have
declared to the whole world that the resolution of the Karabakh
conflict should be anchored on the will of the people of Karabakh.
Only in this case can the solution be lasting, real and peaceful,’ he
said.
