TIGRAN SARGSYAN TO CARRY OUT WORKING VISIT TO YALTA ON NOVEMBER 20

out a working visit to Yalta to participate in the regular session
of CIS Government leaders, RA Government’s press service reports.

Armenian delegation consists of Head of Government Staff David
Sargsyan, Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan, RA Ambassador to Belarus
Oleg Yesayan, RA Ambassador to Ukraine Armen Khachatryan and other
officials.

ARMENIA APPRECIATES ROLE OF FRANCE IN FURTHERING RA-EU RELATIONS

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On November 19, Naira Zohrabyan, the chairman of
RA NA standing committee on European integration met Christian Bec,
First Councilor at France Embassy in RA. Giving high assessment to
Armenia-France political relations, Naira Zohrabyan expressed hope
they will also be taken into the sphere of economy. She emphasized
the role of France in furthering RA-EU relations.

Naira Zohrabyan stressed the importance of the role of France, as MG
OSCE Co-Chair, in the peaceful settlement of NKR conflict.

Touching upon regional collaboration issue, she noted that Armenia
stays committed to its policy of regional issues settlement, despite
Azerbaijan’s non -constructive approach.

In his turn, Christian Bec confirmed the readiness of France to
contribute to further development of Armenia -France collaboration,
RA NA press service reported.

EFFECTIVE WORK OF CONTROL CHAMBER TO BE GUARANTEED BY INDEPENDENCE

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "Control chambers in different states are different
in essence by virtue of being adjusted to the given country’s
conditions," Head of Poland’s Supreme Control Chamber Yatsek Yazersaky
told a joint news conference organized in RA National Assembly with
Head of Armenian Control Chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan.

Difference between Armenian and Polish control chambers is no
impediment to effective cooperation, he said. "Notwithstanding existing
differences, control chambers should be free and independent both in
financial and functional terms. That will only contribute to effective
control," Yazersky noted.

When asked by journalists about the most corrupt spheres in Poland and
Armenia, he said it was difficult to give definitely one answer. "The
important thing is that we were able to explain to our society to
what extent corruption may be destructive to state." Polish official
also added that corruption risks were more widespread in privatization
sphere.

Ishkhan Zakaryan noted in turn that RA Control Chamber has a working
group dealing with such issues and in 2010, he will make a statement,
determining the essence of corruption and indicating corrupt spheres
and tools designed to combat them.

RA CENTRAL DEPOSITORY TO LAUNCH INTEGRATION PROJECT IN 2010

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ In 2010, RA central depository will launch an
integration project with foreign depositories, NASDAQ OMX Armenia
Director General Armen Melikyan told a news conference in Yerevan. The
main task lies in establishment of mutual relations between regulators,
brokers, stock market and central depository in order to establish
proper control over the market in view of border opening.

Armen Melikyan noted that central depositories’ integration process
is similar to correspondent account system between foreign banks.

"Correspondent accounts will be open in other depositories, allowing
our brokerage companies to keep stocks, purchased for their clients,
locally," NASDAQ OMX Armenia Director General said, adding that the
project will probably be launched next year.

In this context, he noted that in perspective the project could be
implemented in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kirgizia. "Russian market is
not yet ready legislatively; currently negotiations are conducted by
Central Depository. Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are of particular
interest. A possibility of integration with Baltic states’ central
depositories is also envisaged," Armen Melikyan concluded.

NASDAQ OMX Armenia is the new name of the Armenian Stock Exchange
ojsc (renamed on January 27, 2009), however, it is also used to
refer jointly to the stock exchange and the Central Depository of
Armenia ojsc (CDA), as the both companies have been members of the
NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. since early 2008. NASDAQ OMX Armenia and the
CDA are the major securities market infrastructure institutions in
Armenia. Since their inception in 2000, both companies had operated as
self-regulatory organizations established by member broker companies,
up until demutualization in 2007.

EDWARD NALBANDYAN DREW ODIHR DIRECTOR’S ATTENTION TO ANTI-ARMENIAN CAMPAIGN IN BAKU

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ FM Edward Nalbandyan has received Janez LenarÄ~MiÄ~M,
Head of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
(ODIHR), who is carrying out an official visit in Armenia. Parties
discussed issues of cooperation between Armenia and OSCE/ODIHR.

Highly assessing organization’s role in advancing democratic principles
and protecting human rights, Armenian FM reiterated official Yerevan’s
willingness to cooperate with office. In turn, LenarÄ~MiÄ~M appreciated
effective cooperation with Armenian leadership and expressed his
gratitude to FM Nalbandyan for visiting OSCE/ODIHR Headquarters
in Warsaw.

Parties attached much importance to office’s support in enhancing
electoral processes and carrying out observation missions. They also
discussed democratic reform process in Armenia and the country’s steps
in that direction. Edward Nalbandyan drew ODIHR Director’s attention
to anti-Armenian campaign in Baku, RA MFA press service reports.

GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN TO PROVIDE GRANT TO NATIONAL ART GALLERY OF ARMENIA

for the agreement between the governments of Armenia and Japan under
which the latter will provide the National Art Gallery of Armenia

YEREVAN HOSTS PRESENTATION OF NEW BOOK: "NEW JERUSALEM. HIEROTOPY AND ICONOGRAPHY OF SACRED SPACES"

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Today, Rossotrudnichestvo (‘Russian Cooperation’)
initiated presentation of a new book, a collection of essays by
leading Russian and foreign researchers "New Jerusalem. Hierotopy and
iconography of sacred spaces " at the the National Academy of Sciences
of Armenia (NAS RA). Alexei Lidov is the editor and compiler of the
book. Book is an international project and Alexei Lidov worked for
it for 8 years.

The book is part of a larger program to study the meaningful
foundations of Eastern Christian culture and is devoted to the theme of
transference of sacred spaces and tradition of creating images of the
Holy Land. In their works, the authors of articles explore the culture
and art from the first centuries of Christianity to modern times.

Armenian libraries will receive only 30 copies of the book. The article
of the professor of Institute of Arts Armen Ghazarian ‘New Jerusalem
in spatial concepts and architectural forms in medieval Armenia’
is included in the collection.

In his presentation about famous Armenologist – Byzantologist,
translator of Armenian historiographic works of the Middle Ages, doctor
of historical sciences Karen Yuzbashyan, Alexei Lidov particularly
stressed, that Yuzbashyan symbolized the unity of the Armenian and
Russian cultures.

Alexei Lidov, a UNESCO expert, worked at major universities and
research centers around the world. Alexei Lidov initiated the
development of integrated scientific and cultural program "christian
relics", which organizes exhibitions, international conferences,
publishes books. Alexei Lidov is author of 20 books.

ARMENIAN HATIS TO HOST RUSSIA’S CHIVAKATA

2009-2010 League of Europe Armenian basketball club Hatis on November
19 in a sport complex Mika plays its first home match against Russia’s
"Chivakata" in the in group F. In their first games, Hatis lost to
the Greek Atinaikos (105:54), while Chivakata was defeated by the
Turkey’s Besiktas (80:62).

Acording to press service of the Basketball Federation of Armenia,
all players of the Armenian team are ready for the match against
Chivakata. Injured Natia Abuladze (Georgia) is likely to take part
in the meeting.

Chivakata has already held several private workouts in Yerevan, and
the coaching staff of Hatis was unable to get acquainted with their
style of play. Hatis – Chivakata starts at 6:00 p.m. by local time.

KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT NKR’S DIRECT INVOLVEMENT

the negotiation format applying to post-Soviet conflicts," FM Edward
Nalbandyan told today Parliament’s Q&A session, answering Heritage
faction leader Armen Martirosyan question.

In case of encouraging the statement at the current stage, it will be
possible to definitely say that current MG format satisfies Armenian
side whereas Azerbaijani side constantly criticizes it.

With regard to NKR’s direct involvement in conflict settlement
process, FM Nalbandyan said that Armenia raises the issue at all
meeting with OSCE MG Co-Chairs. "Besides, Armenia constantly insists
on the impossibility of drafting a final agreement or achieving any
solution without NKR’s direct involvement," Armenian FM stressed.

REPUBLICAN PARTY HEREAFTER RESPONSIBLE FOR PRIME MINISTERS’ ACTIVITIES

Party was unexpected, as that’s a political force which is becoming
more and more similar to Soviet times’ Communist Party," Head of
Political Scientists’ Union Hmayak Hovhannisyan told a news conference
in Yerevan.

He characterized Premier’s step as protection from ex-President Robert
Kocharyan, considering that "his allies are doing their utmost to
weaken Sargsyan’s positions so as to return Kocharyan to big politics".

According to Hovhannisyan, responsibility for Prime Ministers’
activities hereafter lies upon Republican Party.
