Karabakh talks continue in "very serious form" – French mediator

BAKU May 15

The negotiating process on the resolution of the Armenian-Azeri
conflict is taking place "in a very serious form," said Bernard
Fassier, French co-chairman of the OSCE (Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe) Minsk Group.

"I cannot disclose the details of the current talks, but this process
continues in a very serious form," Fassier told journalists upon his
arrival in Baku from Yerevan, where he earlier held talks with
Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsian and Foreign Minister Eduard
Nalbandian.

In Baku, he is planning to meet with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev,
Fassier said.

Fassier’s visit to Azerbaijan will end on Saturday, he said. "From
here I will go to either Ankara or Paris. I might go to Ankara for
holding consultations," the French co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group
said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
