ARMENIA HAD 2% INFLATION IN Q1

Armenia had 2% inflation in the first quarter of the year, the National
Statistics Service reported.

Consumer prices rose 1.4% in March. Food prices (excluding alcohol
and tobacco) were up 1%, non-food prices increased 3.7% and the cost
of services rose 1%.

Armenia had 5.2% inflation in 2008.

The IMF forecast in November that Armenia would have 5% inflation
in 2009.
