ARMENIA IS NOT THREATENED WITH CESSATION OF COOPERATION WITH EU WITHIN FRAMES OF ‘NEW EUROPEAN NEIGHBORHOOD POLICY’ PROGRAMME IN CASE OF NON-FULFILLMENT OF PACE REQUIREMENTS

Armenia is not threatened with cessation of cooperation with the
European Union within the frames of the ‘New European Neighborhood
Policy> programme in case of non-fulfillment of PACE requirements,
Head of the European Commission delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Raul
de Luzenberger said. He also said that the measures to be implemented
by Armenia have been clearly fixed in the Actions Plan of the ‘New
European Neighborhood Policy> programme. Raul de Luzenberger added
that they agreed with the country’s authorities on the priority of
their fulfillment. In this aspect, he thinks that implementation of
the programme is under a threat’. The European diplomat emphasized
that development of relations with EU will depend on the rate of
implementation of the Actions Plan by Armenia.

For his part, Ambassador of France to Armenia Serge Smessov added that
the European policy covers several components based on the respect
of the general value scale. The French diplomat resumed that adoption
of this value scale by Armenia stipulates further actions within the
frames of the European Neighborhood policy.
