Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today the visiting Foreign
Minister of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg. The government
department for public relations and information told Armenpress
that by emphasizing the enhancement of multilateral Czech-Armenian
relations the prime minister said Armenia was watching closely the
pace of reforms in the Czech Republic, which he said may have a
cognitive significance for Armenia.

Tigran Sargsyan told the Czech Minister also that Armenia expects
the Czech Republic to provide it with assistance to help its closer
integration with European organizations.

He, particularly, singled out the assistance to help raise
administrative capacities of Armenian civic servants, help organize
training courses for Armenian public servants and share its experience
gained during the reforms.

Tigran Sargsyan and Karel Schwarzenberg also referred to the necessity
of expanding economic cooperation. In this sense the Armenian prime
minister underscored the question of enhancing bilateral private
investments. He added a business conference and more active contacts
between both countries’ business people are the best way to promote
them.

Tigran Sargsyan said also Armenia is interested in developing military
cooperation with the Czech Republic. The two men emphasized also
Czech-Armenian interaction within international organizations.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
