Komitas Art School Choir Takes Second Place In International Contest

KOMITAS ART SCHOOL CHOIR TAKES SECOND PLACE IN INTERNATIONAL CONTEST-FESTIVAL OF CHURCH SONGS

NOR JUGHA, JUNE 3, ARMENIANS TODAY – NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenian
Komitas art school choir returned to Nor Jugha on May 28 with a
victory gained in the International Contest-Festival of Church Songs,
which was held in Poland. The children’s and juvenile Komitas choir
took second place in the contest-festival.

As Alik (Wave) daily of Tehran reports, a welcome program was organized
in the yard of the art school on the initiative of the parents of
the members of the choir and in cooperation with the administration
of the Komitas choir of the Saint Amenaprkich monastery. Bishop
Babken Charian, the Primate of the Armenian diocese of Ispahan,
the Chairman of the diocesan council, the founder of the art school
and the Chairman of the diocesan council of the previous period, the
parents, relatives of the pupils of the school, as well as teachers
and pupils took part in this program.
