The following information was released by the office of New Jersey
Rep. Frank Pallone Jr.:

U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Joe Knollenberg (R-MI),
Co-Chairmen of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, sent the
following letter to Armenian President-Elect Serzh Sargsyan today
congratulating him on his victory. He will be inaugurated on April 9.

Dear President-Elect Sargsyan:

We are writing to congratulate you on your success in the February 20,
2008 presidential election in Armenia.

Armenia continues to prove its commitment to free and fair elections.

The presidential race was noted as transparent and democratic by
international oversight organizations, including the Organization
for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The positive nature of the
election will ensure a deepening of U.S.-Armenia relations and improve
the country’s international reputation as a sound democracy.

As the Co-Chairs of the U.S. House of Representatives Congressional
Caucus on Armenian Issues, we look forward to working with you to
help address the important issues facing Armenia.
