Appeal to be filed against court decision sentencing Azerbaijani
officer Ramil Safarov to life in prison

Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli ? APA. Appeal will be filed against the
decision of Budapest Appeals Court, which sentenced officer of
Azerbaijani Army Ramil Safarov to life in prison, the Bar told APA.

The Bar said it is not known when the appeal will be filed, but this
step will be absolutely taken. The Bar also said that Azerbaijani
lawyer will be appointed to defend the officer.
On April 13, 2006, Budapest city court sentenced Ramil Safarov to
life in prison on charges of killing Armenian officer Gurgen
Markaryan. Budapest Appeals Court upheld the decision on February 22,
2007.
