FEDERATION OF DUKENDO FULL-CONTACT KARATE OF ARMENIA TO SUPPORT SERGE SARGSIAN IN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 14, NOYAN TAPAN. The National Federation of Dukendo
Full-Contact Karate of Armenia will support the candidature of
Serge Sargsian in the RA Presidential elections. As Gor Vardanian,
the Chairman of the International Federation of the kind of sport,
stated at the press conference held on February 13, this decision
was made in the February 11 sitting of the federation.

In his words, the members of the federation are ready to do everything
for the elections to pass freely and fairly. "Colossal work has been
done in the country for the past ten years. In addition to this, the
high-ranking officials of the country have paid a great attention
to sport for the past years, which was lacking in the 90s," Gor
Vardanian mentioned.

In response to the question of why he has made such a decision,
when he was once the personal bodyguard of Levon Ter-Petrosian, the
first President of the Republic of Armenia, Gor Vardanian mentioned
that he has been the bodyquard of both Levon Ter-Petrosian and Robert
Kocharian. He was an officer of the National Security in those years
and like all the collaborators of the security, had no right to enter
the political field.

"It is already two years, I have not been in that service and can
take part in the elections. I have my personal opinion, which is
joined by the members of the federation," he stated.
