RUSSELL JOHNSTON VISITS ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN

Lord Russell Johnston, the president of the committee of Parliamentary
Congress of European Council dealing with the NK question visits
Armenia and Azerbaijan in the first part of February.

"I would like to leave for Baku in February 8, and after visit Armenia
to have chance to follow the presidential elections," announced Lord
Johnson, today.

According to him, they also made some arrangements with the presidents
and parliamentary spokesmen of both countries. He mentioned that
the forthcoming presidential elections are the most important but he
would like to discuss things about the NK regulation.

He also said that the committee headed by him does not deal with the
NK question, as it is supervised by the OSCE Minsk Group. Our mission
is to soften the relations between the parliaments of both countries
and to prepare them for negotiations.
