MINISTER OSKANIAN RECEIVED THE PRESIDENT OF THE SWISS NATIONAL COUNCIL

November 8 RA Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian received the delegation
headed by the President of the National Council of Switzerland
Christine Egerszegi-Obrist.

Greeting the guest, Minister Oskanian expressed appreciation for the
recent bilateral contacts between Armenia and Switzerland, highly
assessing the active and productive work of the Armenian-Swiss
Friendship Group.

At the request of the guests, Minister Oskanian presented the main
directions of Armenia’s foreign policy, the relations with neighbors,
the negotiations on the Karabakh conflict settlement, Armenia’s stance
on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.

Mrs. Egerszegi-Obrist, in turn, presented the aims of the visit to
Armenia and shared her impressions. In the framework of the visit
the President of the Swiss National Council visited the Armenian
companies with Swiss participation and got acquainted with their
activity. According to Mrs. Egerszegi-Obrist, their objective is to
support the development of the countries which have chosen the route
of democratization.
