ARMENIA’S DEFENSE MINISTER HIGHLY ESTIMATES SERVICE OF ARMENIAN INTELLIGENCE

YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Defense Minister Mikayel
Haroutiunian highly estimated the work of intelligence department.

"Intelligence agents do their tasks properly, and I estimated their
work as good," he told reports after the celebration of Day of
Military Intelligence.

He expressed hope that the traditions of the domestic intelligence
dating back to 90s will be continued. "I am sure that the intelligence
agents do their work brilliantly," he added.

Haroutiunian pointed out that the intelligence still has to improve
and perfect professionalism.

He said that the department has increased its military efficiency
since 90s, and it is already half a year that a group of people on
contractual basis works in the special regiment.

He pointed out that this regiment was always highly estimated for
the level of military efficiency.

The special regiment has been operating as military subdivision since
1992 – from the first day of formation the Armenian Army. On May 25,
in connection with 15th anniversary of the Armenian Army, the regiment
was awarded with the order of "Military Cross of Second Class" for
the contribution to the development of Armenia’s Armed Forces and
defense of the country’s borders.
