The Asparez club of journalists conducted a poll among 1000 people
in Gyumri on the presidential election from August 15 to 31. 80.6
percent said they will vote to the president, 11.8 percent said they
will not vote, 7.3 percent have not made up their mind.
149 people or 14.9 percent said if the presidential election, were
today they would vote for the leader of the Orinats Yerkir Party
Arthur Baghdasaryan. 113 or 11.3 percent said they would vote for
Serge Sargsyan, 102 or 10.2 percent said they would vote for Gagik
Tsarukyan. Raffi Hovannisian, Vardan Oskanyan, Tigran Karapetyan,
Artashes Geghamyan, Paruir Hairikyan, Levon Ter-Petrosyan were among
the first ten.
The respondents were also asked if they wish Robert Kocharyan ran in
the presidential election. 296 or 29.6 percent said yes, 483 or 48.3
percent said no, 212 or 21.2 percent said they would like him to run
in the election but he has no right.
