ONLY FOUR OFFICERS TO REPRESENT ARMENIA IN NAVAL EXERCISES

Armenia will take part in the Ukrainian-American naval exercises
"Sea Breeze 2007" but as an observer, RA DM’s spokesman, Colonel
Seiran Shahsouvaryan told ArmInfo. He said that only one Armenian
officer is presently in Odessa, three officers more will leave for
Ukraine one of these days.

He also said that the works on planning the joint exercises are carried
out in Odessa at present, the purpose and subjects of manoeuvres
are also discussed. As he said, it is scheduled to develop the
joint actions of multinational subdivisions and enhance the level
of cooperation during antiterrorist actions and operations for peace
maintenance.

To note, the joint exercises "Sea Breeze 2007" will be held on
July 9-22.

Representatives of naval forces of 10 countries: Ukraine, USA, Austria,
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Canada, Germany, Moldova and Turkey have
already started discussing the plan of holding the naval and coastal
stages of exercises, the tasks of the Headquarters of the exercises’
leadership, the issues of comprehensive provision of the exercises,
the structure of the attracted forces and means. The exercises will be
held at the Western Naval base of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, the troop
polygon "Shirokolanovsky", two naval polygons, the Tendrovskaya Kosa
island, the airdrome "Shkolny", the naval ports "Odessa" and "Yuzhny".
