Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended congratulations to the leaders of former Soviet republics, as well as to the peoples of Georgia and Moldova, on the anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Messages were also addressed to the leaders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which are internationally unrecognized.

“On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, Vladimir Putin has sent congratulatory messages to the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as to the peoples of Georgia and Moldova,” reads a statement published on the Kremlin’s website on May 8.

Putin emphasised that the day is one on which “we express our gratitude and respect to our fathers and grandfathers, who fought shoulder to shoulder at the front and worked in the rear, bringing the long-awaited Victory over the Nazi invaders ever closer at the cost of countless sacrifices and hardships.”

He also extended heartfelt congratulations and sincere words of gratitude to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers, wishing them good health, strength of spirit and long life.

In his messages to the peoples of Georgia and Moldova, Putin called for preserving the memory of the events of those brutal wartime years and passing on to future generations the good traditions of friendship and mutual assistance that unite the peoples of all countries.

Armenpress: Icelandic artist Roza Gisladottir to hold first solo exhibition in

Culture19:22, 8 May 2026
Read the article in: Armenian:

Renowned Icelandic artist Roza Gisladottir, whose work engages with politics, philosophy, and the technological, cultural and environmental challenges of the contemporary world, is set to exhibit in Armenia for the first time.

The exhibition, titled Reflection of Time, will open on May 11 at the Centre for Contemporary Art.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore 23 works. Speaking to journalists on May 8, Sona Harutyunyan, Acting Director of the HayArt Centre, described hosting Gisladottir’s exhibition as an honour – not only for the centre, but for Armenia as a whole.

“The exhibition will be spread across all of the centre’s halls – the entire museum space will be filled with Gisladottir’s works. One of the most significant aspects of the display is that the celebrated artist is donating five of her works to the Centre for Contemporary Art – and in doing so, to this beloved city of Yerevan. These works will become part of our museum’s permanent collection,” Harutyunyan said.

Five of Gisladottir’s large-scale art installations will also be placed along Mashtots Avenue and Saryan Street, at what is known as the “Art Crossroads.” Gisladottir first visited the HayArt Centre two years ago. She was so taken with the space that she resolved to return and present an exhibition there.

“In addition to sculptures, photographs will also be on display. Two of the five works were previously shown in Rome and are executed in the style of Greco-Roman classicism. Two of the sculptures stand approximately two metres tall and are made from a mixture of acrylic and plaster. The third carries the title of the exhibition – Reflection of Time – and takes the form of a round, transparent cylinder shaped after this museum’s appearance. It has a mirror-like quality: looking into it, you can see Yerevan behind you, see yourself, and reflect on the past, the present and the future. Another sculpture is called Where Are We Going? and shares the same philosophical spirit as the previous one. It is a square sculpture comprising eight steps. Yet another work is titled Length and Width,” the artist explained.

Gisladottir is an internationally experienced artist whose works have been presented at prestigious venues, including the Trajan’s Market in Rome, the Ásmundarsafn and Einar Jónsson museums in Iceland, and the Kópavogur Art Museum.

The Yerevan exhibition has been supported by the Yerevan Municipality and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Iceland in the Republic of Armenia. Consul Levon Hayrapetyan noted that the consulate’s work promotes cooperation between the two countries not only in economic and other fields, but also in the spheres of culture and the arts. “The realisation of Reflection of Time – a large-scale exhibition of contemporary Icelandic art in Armenia – is an important step in the region towards developing Armenian-Icelandic artistic collaboration. The exhibition brings together artistic and educational components, contributing to the engagement of art-loving audiences and broader segments of society in the promotion of contemporary art,” he added.

The exhibition will run until August 11.

Verelq: Before the press conference was over, they attacked

“Hraparak” daily writes:

We learned from our law enforcement sources that yesterday, before the press conference of “Strong Armenia” party leader Samvel Karapetyan, which was broadcast live, Nikol Pashinyan issued a new order to the law enforcement officers to carry out mass wiretapping among Karapetyan’s teammates and not only, and to “find dirt on” his supporters by all possible and impossible means and start a new wave of criminal prosecutions against that force.

Yesterday, a new attack was carried out against the “Strong Armenia” office in Syunik, and people were arrested again. Apparently, Nikol Pashinyan took a hard time with Samvel Karapetyan’s self-confident statements and harsh assessments directed at him, which especially denied the accusations that Karapetyan has problems with speaking.

Perhaps this was also the reason why the government’s propaganda machine was immediately put into action, they began to spread news with false headlines and completely distorted news. For example, one of the official websites published an article that allegedly Samvel Karapetyan said: “Robert Kocharian is a president who has won a victory, and we will join him.” Meanwhile, Karapetyan characterized Kocharyan as the victorious president and welcomed his statement that he is ready to join the force that received the most votes, that is, “Strong Armenia”.

Threats, an entire executive gone on vacation. A stone was launched in Armenia

The campaign is starting in Armenia. Officially. We specifically record that fact, because de facto it started a long time ago, and especially the government “Civil Contract” party has been actively campaigning for several months, using the government’s levers and instruments.

And so, 19 political forces are participating in the pre-election campaign. It will last until June 5, and on June 7 the RA citizen will make his choice.

The start of the campaign was signaled by the fact that the majority of the executive is going on vacation from today, led by Nikol Pashinyan. All of them will carry out active propaganda in the villages and cities of Armenia, so that in the next five years they will continue to operate with the quality that is visible to all of us and that the citizen of Armenia feels very good on his skin.

So they go on vacation

Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan,

Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan,

Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports,

Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Davit Khudatyan,

Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan,

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan,

Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan,

Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan,

Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan,

Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Araik Harutyunyan.

As well as Pashinyan’s many assistants and advisers, governors. Even the head of the Food Safety Inspection Authority, Tigran Petrosyan, is going on vacation. They will all be on vacation until June 5th.

The start of the campaign was signaled by another remarkable episode, Pashinyan once again issued threats to the opposing forces, declaring that “none of the three-headed forces of the war should cross the threshold of entering the parliament”.

“I formulated a problem in the National Assembly and we will work with the citizens on that problem so that none of the three-headed parties of the war does not overcome the threshold necessary to enter the parliament. Our plan is that none of them should pass the necessary threshold to enter the parliament. Specifically, I am talking about the “Armenia” alliance, “Strong Armenia” alliance and I am talking about the “Prosperous Armenia” party,” Pashinyan said at the meeting with journalists yesterday and then added:

“Those forces should think about entering the parliament. That they say we will win is simply ridiculous.”

And now the press wrote that before the press conference of “Strong Armenia” party leader Samvel Karapetyan was over yesterday, Pashinyan ordered his law enforcement system to carry out mass wiretapping among Karapetyan’s teammates and not only, and by all possible and impossible means to “find dirt on” his supporters and start a new wave of criminal prosecutions against that force. The question: Is there anyone who doubts that this is how it happened is rhetorical.

In other words, let’s record that nothing has changed in Pashinyan’s behavior, both as the head of the country and as the leader of the election-going force. he continues to threaten everyone who can shake his power and criticizes that power, he puts into operation the legal system that serves him submissively, adapting it only to serve his interests, as a result of which serious crimes in Armenia, including against minors, are increasing more and more, they are covered up by the same system, and there is no place and no pause in the prisons, all of them are Pashinyan’s opponents.

Let’s hope that all this is visible to the RA citizen and making the right choice will be as easy a process as stifling free speech for Pashinyan.

What will happen at the end of the campaign?

Correctly understanding the situation on the first day of the campaign and drawing the right conclusions from it will predetermine the image of June 7.

1. Developments are determined not by the high rating of the opposition, but by the low rating of the government. This significantly changes the situation, because the tools for fighting the opposition will not solve the main problem, but will lead to new scenarios.

2. The truest consolidation took place in the opposition camp, because it is not about persons or positions, but about principles. Society has fixed this.

3. The people, all layers of the society want changes.

4. The government obstructs the programmatic debate. This is the first time in the history of Armenia. There is one explanation. By and large, the government has nothing to say, nothing programmatic to offer its own people. And he will do everything to prevent other people’s programmatic way of working. You should not fall into this trap.

5. Wait for the “Moldovan” scenario, beware of the “Romanian one”. It is not excluded that the government, through the courts, will prevent the participation of this or that force and/or after losing the elections, will try to cancel them. Let’s remember that the new National Assembly does not assume its powers immediately. Therefore, we should be ready for such developments.

6. The great chance of forming a new solid government in Armenia is due to the fact that the current government does not have the explicit support of any social stratum. This is nonsense, such a thing does not happen. The government loses in all social strata, it loses in Yerevan, in other cities and also in villages.

7. Pashinyan created new artificial social classes. he is the head of the layer under the premierists and the infoterror. It is very important to understand this in order to be able to choose the right targets for work. It is necessary to speak with the state system in the right terms and work patiently against the information terror.

8. And one of the most important principles. to be honest with each other, within the opposition, and with society.

Our approach remains unchanged: to be with people. Tsarukyan

The meetings held in a warm and direct atmosphere continue. This time, we first had an unplanned visit to Norakert village of Ararat marz, then the meetings continued in Avshar, Ararat, Surenavan, Aygevan and Vosketap communities.

Our approach remains unchanged: to be next to people, to go from village to village, to listen directly to their problems and concerns.

During the open and relaxed dialogue, we tried to give honest and direct answers to people’s interesting and even the most painful questions.

The desire of the villagers is one thing: to have strong and safe borders, to work peacefully on their land, to create and create, and to look with confidence to the future of themselves and their children.

It is no accident that Artsakh is mentioned separately on the map of Azerbaijan on RF TV

The battle for Artsakh is about to begin and it will not be a battle of tanks and cannons.

It is no accident that Nagorno Karabakh is mentioned separately on the map of Azerbaijan on the Russian state television. That is why Aliyev is in a hurry trying to convince our naive people through the Europeans that giving up the Motherland is bravery.

Are you so brave, give up Corsica…

Wildberries resumes exporting Armenian products

Wildberries resumes the export of Armenian products. The company issued an official statement about this.

It is noted that the customs and paperwork issues have been resolved.

It has become possible to restore the phased sale of some goods produced and marked in the Republic of Armenia outside the borders of Armenia.

Earlier, due to the entry into force of new customs regulation requirements and the need for sellers to submit additional documents to confirm the origin of goods, some deliveries faced additional checks and processing delays at sorting centers.

Recently, Wildberries stopped selling to Armenian trading companies.

In order to regulate the processes and prevent further delays, the availability of some product cards outside the borders of the Republic of Armenia was temporarily limited.

As a result of joint work with state bodies, partners and interested parties, a road map for the settlement of the situation was developed, within the framework of which access to Armenian-made product cards has already been partially restored.

In the next stages, it is planned to restore the sale of goods produced in the territory of the EAEU, as well as those produced outside the EAEU.
