Sports: Armenia national boxing team in Paris, to compete for passes to Olympic Games

The Armenia national boxing team is in Paris and is holding the final training sessions ahead of the qualifying tournament for Tokyo 2020. The delegation is led by President of the Armenian Boxing Federation Hovhannes Hovsepyan.

According to preliminary data, on the first day (4 June), the Armenian athletes to compete in the ring will be Arman Darchinyan (75 kg category) and Gor Nersisyan (81 kg category), the press service of the Armenian Boxing Federation reports.

Koryun Soghomonyan (52 kg category), Hovhannes Bachkov (63 kg category), Narek Manasyan (91 kg category), Gurgen Hovhannisyan (superheavyweight) and Ani Hovsepyan (69 kg category), who have scored passes, will also participate in the tournament.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again.
