Sports: Armenia’s football federation suspends all tournaments because of coronavirus

Armenia’s football federation decided to suspend all tournaments because of coronavirus outbreak.

Given new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia and for the prevention of further spread of the virus, as well as taking into account the calls by the Armenian government, all tournaments held under the auspices of FFA, will be suspended until March 23, the federation said in a statement on Friday.

A press conference of newly appointed Armenia head coach Joaquin Caparros that had to take place on March 13 will be suspended as well.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
