In order to learn about the events related to the operation of the Amulsar mine, a working group was sent to the city of Jermuk on the instructions of the Human Rights Defender.

The Public Relations Department of the Office of the RA Human Rights Defender informs that during the visit, discussions are planned with the residents of Gndevaz community, citizens who are on duty in the area for non-exploitation of the Amulsar mine, and civil society representatives. Separate discussions will also take place in Jermuk Municipality.

Taking into account the publications of the media and social networks, a separate observation will be made regarding the accumulation of police forces in the city. The hotline of the Ombudsman’s office received 3 calls from the residents of Jermuk yesterday.

It should be noted that the Human Rights Defender continues to focus on the events surrounding the operation of the Amulsar mine.
