World and European weightlifting champion Nazik Avdalyan will be nominated by the “Prosperous Armenia” party in the Yerevan Council of Elders elections.

On his Facebook page, Avdalyan denied the information circulating in the media that he will be nominated as a candidate for the Council of Elders by the “Civil Contract” party.

“I have been and remain a member of the “Prosperous Armenia” party. For me, Gagik Tsarukyan is not only the head of the party or the person in charge of national sports, but also a close person and a member of the family. So, I ask the media representatives not to look for artificial problems and contexts where there are none. I was and remain a member of the BHK and will be nominated as a candidate for the Council of Elders by the PAP,” the post said.
