Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has written a resignation letter. Davit Khazhakyan, head of the “Exit” faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders, said about this in a conversation with “Azatutyan”.

– Mr. Khazhakyan, there are reports that Mayor Taron Margaryan submitted his resignation. Do you have such information as a member of the Yerevan Council of Elders?

– We also have such information, and judging by the situation, we can say that it should have been like that. It is explained by several different circumstances, and I think the absence of the mayor at the previous session is proof of that, as well as all the videos and criminal cases that were initiated against the mayor or the organizations close to the mayor.

 – In other words, do you have the information that he has already written the resignation letter?

– The application has already been written, it’s just not published, and I think that there are several questions that need to be clarified, what will happen after the resignation, so that it is published.

Meanwhile, after this interview, Artur Gevorgyan, the Head of Public and Media Relations Department of Yerevan Municipality, stated that there is no such information, and he does not confirm the information mentioned in that publication. Gevorgyan noted that today Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the vice-governor of Saint-Petersburg, and yesterday he did not attend the session of the Council of Elders due to his ill health.

Earlier, VERELQ, referring to its sources, wrote that the mayor has written a resignation letter and it may be published before the government meeting on Thursday. Taron Margaryan has not come to work for several days.
