The joint military exercises of the combined groups of the CSTO and the Armenian-Russian groups started in Yerevan. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the RA Defense Forces, Movses Hakobyan, said this today in a conversation with journalists at the “Baghramyan” military training camp.

“The units of all countries have presented themselves, today is the opening ceremony, and we are already moving to the stage of military exercises,” he said, according to tert.am.

Movses Hakobyan noted that this military exercise is aimed at ensuring that all the armed forces of the CSTO countries can work harmoniously within the framework of the CSTO and that the troops will be engaged in the organization of a harmonious operation on these three days.

“Both peacekeeping units and special units that will carry out special tasks will participate. “All military, missile, and aviation groups operating in the CSTO countries will participate, except for strategic weapons, all the rest will be used,” he added.
