The Microsoft Innovation Center in Yerevan is the largest one, and
its experience is applied in Central Europe for establishing similar
centers, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at the ArmTech
Congress 2011 in Yerevan.

He reminded the congress that the center was opened this May, under
a memorandum of understanding signed between the Armenian Government
and Microsoft Corporation.

MIC Armenia is holding both short- and long-term IT and business
trainings as well as equipping students, IT professionals, and Armenian
businesses with the knowledge and skills to create innovative products
and services, to bring products and services to market, and to build
well-managed competitive businesses.

Programs are implemented with the assistance of the Enterprise
Incubator Foundation (EIF), US Agency for International Development
(USAID), Microsoft Corporation, State Engineering University of
Armenia and Government of Armenia.

Premier Tigran Sargsyan noted that the center is assisting small and
medium-sized businesses, training courses, seminars.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
